ThenChat is a SaaS tool that automates Instagram messaging by retrieving your Instagram comments and direct messages via the Instagram API. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use our service.

Instagram Data

When you connect your Instagram business or creator account to ThenChat, we collect:

Comments and direct messages content

Basic profile information (username, name, profile picture, account ID)
Engagement metrics necessary for service operation

We only access data that you explicitly authorize through Instagram's OAuth 2.0 authentication process. ThenChat never sees or stores your Instagram password.

User Inputs and AI-Generated Responses

We process and store:

Messages and replies you create through ThenChat
AI-generated response suggestions
Conversation summaries and analytics
Custom response templates you create

All responses are saved with your consent in the database, and you maintain full control over what is stored.

OpenAI Integration

To provide smart reply suggestions and conversation analysis, ThenChat integrates OpenAI's API. When you opt in to use AI-powered features, message data may be securely transmitted to OpenAI for real-time processing. OpenAI does not store or use this data to train its models.

No Sale of User Data

ThenChat does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or Instagram content to any third parties for marketing, advertising, or other commercial purposes.

Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:

Active account data is retained until you delete your account
Backup data is retained for up to 30 days after account deletion
Analytics data is anonymized after 12 months
Legal compliance data may be retained longer if required by law
